My name is Judge Nunez, and I am a graduate student in the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Grand Canyon University. I grew up in Queens, New York, and earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Queens College. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in human behavior, mental health, and the therapeutic process, which I am now building upon in my graduate studies.

I have always felt fulfilled helping others in need. I believe that everyone deserves a safe, nonjudgmental space to share their thoughts and experiences. Growing up, helping others was modeled for me and became a core part of who I am. From personal experiences and the knowledge I have gained through my education, becoming a therapist has always been my ultimate goal.

In my practice, I utilize both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques. These evidence-based approaches allow me to help clients develop practical coping strategies, build emotional regulation skills, and challenge unhelpful thought patterns. I believe that tailoring these tools to each individual is essential in fostering personal growth and long-term change.

My internship has been an invaluable experience, giving me the opportunity to work with diverse clients and apply what I have learned in real-world settings. Each session strengthens my passion for counseling and deepens my understanding of the therapeutic process. My goal is to continue developing my skills so that I can provide compassionate, effective support and empower clients to reach their full potential.

In my free time, I enjoy going for walks, playing video games, reading, and going to the gym. I also find enjoyment in watching comedy shows/movies.
