Women's DBT Meditation & Skills Group. Wednesdays at 12:00. Mesa
My name is Michael Miller, and I am currently a graduate student in the MSW program at Northern Arizona University. I was born and raised in Bourbonnais, Illinois but have been an Arizona resident for nearly 20 years. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Arizona State University.
I’m a father and deeply value my relationships with my loved ones. I am blessed that my entire family has, over time, found their way to the Phoenix area. My son recently began his educational journey as a kindergartener. I’m excited to watch him grow and develop. In my free time I enjoy reading, golfing and trying to keep up with my son.
My interest in mental health developed through both my own personal experience and my profession. I have been blessed to work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and see, first hand, the needs for quality mental health services for this population. My thirteen years of experiences working in my field have taught me how transformative it can be to feel seen, heard, and supported.
As I pursue a career in counseling, my hope is to create a space where others can explore their inner world with compassion and curiosity. I believe in the power of counseling to help people discover resilience, develop coping strategies, and move toward a more empowered and fulfilling life.
